The Podgorica police shed light on the case from February of this year, when "Golf 5" owned by Aleksandar Rakočević was set on fire in the Stari Aerodrom neighborhood of Podgorica.
The interlocutor of Vijesti from the investigation states that Željko Janković (54) and his son Marko (29) were arrested early this morning for this crime.
In the fire on February 17, in addition to the "Golf", the fire engulfed and partially destroyed two other cars that were parked in the immediate vicinity.
The Police Administration announced that two people were arrested for starting a fire on a vehicle.
"Podgorica police officers identified and detained MJ (29) and Ž.J. (54), both from Podgorica, due to the well-founded suspicion that they committed the aforementioned criminal offense. It is suspected that these two persons committed the criminal offense in the manner on February 16, 2019, they drove a vehicle to Cvijetna Street, where a "VW Golf V" vehicle owned by AR was parked, and then, it is suspected, poured inflammable liquid and started a fire, after which they started escape," the police said in a statement.
Those arrested are charged with the criminal offense of destruction and damage to other people's property and will be brought to the State Prosecutor's Office in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica along with a criminal report.
