Judge Dijana Rovčanin decided to reopen the hearing in the case against Mersudin Kalić, even though she finished the trial at the end of last month and was supposed to make a decision in this case these days.
"Vijesti" was told by the Basic Court in Podgorica that on May 20 the judge invalidated the decision by which she closed the hearing.
"The case returns to the state it was in before the decision was made, and the next hearing is scheduled for June 27," said the spokeswoman of that court, Anja Krkeljić Milić.
Mersudin Kalić sued the state and the Property Administration seeking compensation for the "hammer" which, as he claims in the lawsuit, was returned destroyed after he, his brother Safet and daughter-in-law Amina were legally acquitted of money laundering charges.
The expert previously estimated that Kalić lost over 20.000 euros during the time that the state owned his "hammer".
The Property Administration gave Kalić's "hammer" to the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit for use, referring to the legal provision on the transfer of temporarily confiscated property "for humanitarian purposes".
SAJ used that vehicle, among other things, in the "hunt for citizens" after the protests were broken up in October 2015.
