The higher state prosecutor's office in Bijelo Polje filed charges against three boys from Berane, aged 14 to 16, who are suspected of abusing a 14-year-old girl in Berane for several months with two other schoolmates, who are under XNUMX years old.
The minors were charged with the criminal offense of rape, the criminal offense of sexual intercourse with a child and the criminal offense of blackmail.
After the completed preparatory procedure, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office submitted to the Council for Juveniles of the High Court in Bijelo Polje a proposal for the imposition of a criminal sanction - the educational measure of referral to a prison-type institution.
Juvenile judge Vanja Rakonjac recently passed a decision on extending the measure of stay of minors in the special institution "Ljubović", stating that "this measure can last until the end of the proceedings".
The decision to extend the stay was upheld by the Court of Appeal, rejecting the appeal of the boy's defense to revoke that measure. The boys were sent to that institution on March 18.
In the court's decision, it was stated that staying in a special institution is in the interest of minors as well, and that it would not be good for them to stay in a city where the relations between their families and the minor's family are disturbed. In addition to expert supervision, boys have the right to take an extraordinary class exam at their home school in Berane.
A group of students abused a minor from December 2018 to February this year.
