In the continuation of the trial of the former leaders of "Telekom" Oleg Obradović and Miodrag Ivanović, accused of abusing their official position, they obtained a benefit of 2,3 million euros from the company "RawleighTrading" from London in the name of a fictitious contract on consulting services for examining the telecommunications market in Southeast Europe, in Pavle B. Đurović, representative of Montenegrin "Telekom", was heard today at the higher court in Podgorica.
"We only received instructions on what to fix. In the financial report, the independent auditor requested that a transfer be made from the consulting services account to the expense account, without mentioning any contract. After that, the financial report for 2005 was adopted," said Đurović.
He said in front of judge Evica Durutović that the independent auditor at the beginning of 2006 did not want to give a positive opinion on the financial report, after which he informed "Mađar Telekom". After that, "Mađar Telekom" formed a team that dealt with the investigation of these disputed contracts.
"As far as I remember, in January or February 2006, the independent auditor "Pray Waters House Coopers" did not give a positive opinion on the financial report of "Telecom" and informed "Mađar Telekom" about it. I know that "Mađar Telekom" formed a team that investigated several contracts, among which was this one with "RawleighTrading". They had the right to it because they were the owners of 76% of Montenegrin Telekom. That independent auditor expressed doubts about the correctness of this contract with "RawleighTrading". The Hungarians hired the law firm "White and Case" from the USA, who led the investigation. They submitted the result of that investigation to the Montenegrin Prosecutor's Office through Montenegrin Telekom. It was confidential information, so we had no insight into the result of the investigation, nor was it entered into the registers. The conclusions of the audit are not in Telekom's documentation, nor that they were discussed at the meetings of the Board of Directors, only the members of the board were informed", said the witness Đurović.
He explained that at that time the executive director of "Moneta" was the defendant Miodrag Ivanović, the executive director of Montenegrin "Telekom" was Milan Perović, and the defendant Oleg Obradović was the president of the board of directors of "Telekom".
"We only received instructions on what to fix. In the financial report, the auditor requested that a transfer be made from the consulting services account to the expense account, without mentioning any contract. After that, the financial report for 2005 was adopted," said Đurović.
There were no objections to his testimony from the special prosecutor Saša Čađenović, as well as from the defendants and their defense attorneys.
Lawyer Dragoljub Đukanović added that everything that the representative of "Telekom" said is in the case files, while lawyer Zoran Piperović pointed out that it is evident that this witness's knowledge is limited and that he is not competent.
The trial continues on October 2005, when the court ruled that Slavko Carić, a member of the Telekom Board of Directors for 2006/XNUMX, on behalf of the minority shareholders, and Ešter Košardi and Andraš Dunai, financial directors at "Mađar Telekom", will be heard as witnesses in the continuation of the evidentiary proceedings.
The special state prosecution brought an indictment against Obradović and Ivanović, who are accused of abuse of position, i.e. that during the privatization of Telekom, they extracted 2,3 million euros from that company through a fictitious contract with the company Rawleing on the analysis of the regional telecommunications market. The indictment adds that on October 27, 2005, they concluded a contract with Rawleing Trading from London on the provision of consulting services, which allegedly obliged the company to assess the current situation in the telecommunications sector in Southeast Europe.
