Democratic Front MP Slaven Radunović allegedly insulted the officers of the Communal Police in Bijela today and refused to provide documents for inspection. Radunović confirmed to "Vijesta" that there was an incident on the coastal road in Bijela and that he "reacted inappropriately" because he "felt provoked".
Allegedly, the Municipal Police stopped a Volkswagen car with registration number HN BJ 892, because it was moving on the road at a time when no traffic is allowed, and the driver refused to provide documents for inspection.
"I was returning the car to the owner who is a local and who, I assume, has a license to drive on the local road. I felt provoked by the way the municipal police officer addressed me and I reacted inappropriately, according to my standards, and I'm sorry for that," Radunović told "Vijesta".
The Communal Police claim that the driver insulted their officers.
"The driver behaved arrogantly, he insulted the officers of the Communal Police, he used the most vulgar curses at them. Then he parked the cars on the nearby beach and entered the speedboat, which then sailed away in an unknown direction," said the Communal Police.
Traffic is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m. on the local coastal road through the settlements of Baošići and Bijela to the swimming pool, as well as the part of the road in Bijela next to the "Delfin" hotel to the intersection with the Adriatic highway in Jošice. The ban is in effect until September 1.
