Mountaineers from Serbia, Dragomir Davidović and Milan Matić, died while climbing Mount Lebršnik, in the border zone between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", their disappearance was reported yesterday, after which the rescuers of the GSS of Republika Srpska started a search.
The bodies of the victims were found a few hundred meters down the slope, under the path.
As the bodies were found on the territory of Montenegro, the investigation was taken over by local investigative authorities.
Members of the Plužina Protection and Rescue Service, the "Piva" Nature Park and the Nikšić Safety Center, Plužina regional department, participated in the operation to retrieve the bodies of the mountaineers who died from Serbia.
"Last night we were called by the police to tell us that two mountaineers entered the Volujak mountain from the Bosnian side, in the town of Kosare, and that they were killed. This morning we left at 6 o'clock via Gack because that is the only way to reach them. We arrived we are around nine o'clock. They tried to cross some cliff and probably due to bad weather conditions they slipped and landed down a big embankment. We managed to transport their bodies through very bad and inaccessible terrain to where their car was. There the funeral was waiting the vehicle that took them to Podgorica, where the autopsy will be performed," said Mirko Cicmil, a member of the Plužine Protection and Rescue Service, to "Vijesta".
