Croatian citizens MA (46) and Ž.B. (53) were arrested today in Tivat. They are wanted by NCB Interpol Lisbon for drug trafficking, the police announced.
"These persons are wanted under the international warrant of NCB Interpol Lisbon in order to ensure their presence in the criminal proceedings that are being conducted against them on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of drug trafficking. They are suspected to have traveled from the Caribbean to Portugal on June 23, 2018 transported the narcotic drug cocaine, which was hidden inside the ship. In total, about 1.200 kilograms of the narcotic drug cocaine were found and seized," the police announced.
It is added that the officers of the Criminal Police Department, the Department for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption and the officers of the Tivat Security Department participated in the activities of the targeted search.
"Officials of the Sector for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption maintained direct communication with their colleagues from Portugal and the Republic of Croatia in connection with this case. The realization of this targeted search is an indicator of successful international police cooperation," it concludes.
