This year, the police registered 60 crimes in the field of fires, explosions and illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, of which 51 were solved, said the head of the Criminal Police Station for the Suppression of Blood Offenses of the Podgorica Security Center, Srđan Korać.

He added that in the same period, five criminal acts committed in the previous three years were solved.

"48 criminal charges were filed against 53 people, of which 33 were arrested," Korać said.

As he stated, in the same period last year, 24 percent of criminal offenses were solved, which means that this year the percentage of solutions is higher.

Korać said that the Police Directorate, in accordance with its competences focused on the prevention of criminal acts and the protection of citizens and property, continuously monitors and analyzes security phenomena and events.

According to him, based on that, the police is planning to take measures and actions aimed at preserving and improving the overall security environment.

"An additional dimension in the conflict between criminal groups is given by the change in the mode of execution of serious crimes in the area of fires and explosions, which is reflected in the use of explosive devices with strong destructive power," Korać explained.

As he said, the change in the mode of execution of the mentioned criminal acts creates new challenges that are posed to law enforcement authorities in the part related to prevention, elucidation and collection of evidence necessary for the continuation of procedural activities.
