VR (44) from Bjelopol was arrested on suspicion of having committed a criminal offense - illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. A misdemeanor charge was also filed against him for committing a misdemeanor under the Act on Protection from Domestic Violence.
"Acting on a report from the field of domestic violence, the police searched the apartment and other premises used by VR and on that occasion found and confiscated two hand grenades, a detonator cartridge, a baseball bat, a machete and parts of an automatic weapon. The responsible state prosecutor was informed about the incident who stated that the explosive devices are secured until the arrival of the officers of the Directorate for Emergency Situations, who will take them over, and that the suspect be deprived of his liberty," the Police Directorate announced.
