Police in Podgorica searched three locations and found and seized 37 firearms and other items, the Police Administration announced today.
The announcement states that an automatic rifle, 19 rifles, 11 pistols, six revolvers and 743 pieces of ammunition of various types and calibers were seized.

The Police Department said that a machine for loading and making ammunition, 17 knives, four machetes, a saber, three frames for an automatic rifle and a powdery substance suspected to be gunpowder were also found.

The statement also points out that two people have been arrested, while a criminal complaint has been filed against the third, and all three people are suspected of having committed criminal acts of illegal possession of weapons and explosives.

"Namely, by searching the location used by SM (73) from Podgorica, police officers found and seized five pistols, five revolvers, eight rifles, three frames for an automatic rifle, ammunition, a knife with a scabbard for an automatic rifle, four machetes, a saber and 16 knives A criminal complaint was filed against SM to the competent prosecutor. Police officers searched the apartment used by MD (40) and on that occasion found and confiscated ten rifles, seven pistols, a revolver, a machine for loading and making ammunition, 738 pieces of ammunition of different types and calibers. and a powdery substance suspected to be gunpowder. The MD was deprived of his liberty and brought to the competent state prosecutor with a criminal complaint. In addition, police officers found ammunition casings from an automatic rifle in Princeze Ksenija Street in Podgorica, in the courtyard of the building in front of one of the apartments "Through intensive work, the police came to suspect that MR (31) was shooting with an automatic rifle. An automatic rifle was found and seized during an inspection of the apartment used by this person," the Police Administration said in a statement.

They also said that MR was arrested and brought to the competent prosecutor with a criminal complaint.
