The defense of the president of Atlas Group, Duško Knežević, submitted today to the Special State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica the supplement to the criminal complaint against Vlatko Rašović, Đorđe Đurđić and several other unknown perpetrators - members of the police.
The supplement to the criminal complaint was filed against Milivoj Katnić, the Chief Special Prosecutor, because, as announced by the Atlas Group, "during 2019, with intent, aware of his act and its illegality, using his position and authority, he organized a criminal group whose are members of the police, with the aim of exerting illegal pressure on Đurđić and Rašović to give false statements in the criminal proceedings against Duško Knežević before the SDT in Podgorica".
"Katnić gave instructions to the police officers to pressure Đurđić and Rašović to give false statements in order to illegally help the prosecution to raise illegal indictments against Duško Knežević without grounds. The aforementioned indictments were brought only on the basis of false witness statements (persons illegally and acquired the status of an accomplice witness without grounds)", said Knežević's lawyer Zdravko Đukanović.
The defense requests that "Milo Đukanović, President of Montenegro, B. Gvozdenović from Podgorica be questioned as witnesses, and Duško Knežević, the injured party, be questioned via video conference."
"The defense of Duško Knežević expects urgent action according to the allegations of this criminal complaint in order to initiate criminal proceedings against Milivoj Katnić and several other public officials of the police, for the commission of the criminal offense of abuse of official position from Article 416 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro, as well as against Đorđe Đurđić and Vlatko Rašović for committing the criminal offense of Giving a false statement from Article 389 paragraph 4 in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro," announced Đukanović.
