After their arrest, they were brought to the basic state prosecutor, and they were charged with having committed the crime of theft.
Golubović is the son of the former president of Berana Municipality, Vuka Golubović.
"Due to the suspicion that they committed the crime of theft, against AG, AD and V.Ć. a criminal report has been filed", the police announced.
It was explained that they acted on operational information: that unknown persons stole 120 liters of transformer oil from the transformer - transmission line in the town of Jugovine in Berane.
"The incident was reported to the competent prosecutor, who ordered the issuance of a search warrant for the apartment and other premises used by the mentioned persons. During the search, items were found that are suspected to be from a criminal offense," the announcement reads.
"Vijesti" was unofficially told that the suspects were released to defend themselves, after a hearing at the local prosecutor's office. The Montenegrin Electric Distribution System (CEDIS) constantly appeals that substations in the north are the target of thieves - in the past four years, oil has been stolen more than 100 times.
At the end of November, they announced that transformer oil was stolen from four substations in the Berane and Andrijevica municipalities.
"During the tour, our teams determined that there had been a theft and topped up the missing, over 400 liters of transformer oil.
This time, transformer oil was stolen from three substations in the area of Andrijevic municipality (Rudo Brdo, Zabrđe 1, Gradišnica), as well as from Jugovina - Berana substation, which is now a regular target for oil theft. At CEDIS, we are particularly concerned by the fact that this is the 101st time since August 2015 that theft of elements from the distribution network has been recorded in the area of Region 3 (Berane, Rožaje, Andrijevica, Plav, Petnjica, Gusinje). The real numbers are much higher, but a significant number of cases remain hidden, because the perpetrators leave a minimum amount of oil in the transformer, in order to avoid or delay the accident process", they announced at the time.
The company emphasized that it is worrying that the continuous damage to buildings, especially in the area of the border between Beranka and Andrijevic municipalities, does not result in the detection and sanctioning of the perpetrators.
"Therefore, we once again appeal to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures so that this type of theft is finally suppressed. The Jugovina substation, from which transformer oil was stolen twice in the previous 20 days, belongs to the Dolac transmission line, which is being reconstructed as part of the 30 million euro MV and LV network revitalization project, which will significantly improve power supply for rural areas over the next three years. Therefore, the transformer from which the oil is stolen is new and recently installed, within the mentioned project", they said at the time
