Several persons suspected of human trafficking and fraud were arrested this morning in an operation by the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Police Directorate.
It was unofficially announced to the news from the top of UP that the action is being carried out in several Montenegrin cities. Suspects of human trafficking were arrested in Podgorica at several locations.
"It is an action that we are carrying out in cooperation with SDT, and for now we cannot announce more details," said the same source.
There are foreign nationals among those arrested.
Allegedly, more than 50 Taiwanese citizens were arrested, including victims of human trafficking.
"The organizers of the groups were also arrested. They stayed in several locations, in rented villas, and from the territory of Montenegro committed fraud via the Internet, on the territory of China and Taiwan, by which they obtained illegal property benefits of hundreds of thousands for themselves and the organized criminal group euros", learned Vijesti.
The interlocutor of "Vijesti" explained that the long-term work of the officers of the Department for Suppression of Criminal Offenses of Smuggling and Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration, led by Nikola Medenica and his assistant Marko Brajović, broke the chain of the OKG.
"Which also operated on the territories of Slovenia and Croatia... The action was carried out in cooperation with the Taiwanese police, who sent a certain number of their officers to the UP in order to facilitate the implementation of the action," explained the UP.
