The trial of Nebojša Medojević, PZP leader, accused of creating a criminal organization, and businessman Momir Nikolić, accused of tax evasion, continued today with the reading of written evidence, the records of the search of the apartments and houses of the defendants Željko Šćepanović and Gordan Konatar, and the confirmation of temporarily confiscated items. and contributions, and ten other defendants.
The defendants' lawyers, Dražen Medojević, Dušan Radosavljevih and Ivan Šebek, objected to most of the presented evidence, pointing out that it was legally invalid, and suggested that the special panel presided over by judge Vesna Pean, separate it from the case file.
For the evidence presented in court, which concerns the decision of the Parliament of Montenegro approving the removal of the parliamentary immunity of Nebojša Medojević for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings and ordering custody at the request of the special state prosecutor's office dated May 30, 05, the defendant Medojević assessed that it was unconstitutional and contrary to the practice of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
"This is another proof that this is a political process. It is about the personal revenge of the chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić against me, because of my parliamentary work and pointing out corruption and organized crime. Along with the request to waive immunity, the prosecution did not offer a single valid piece of evidence against me. This was done absolutely unconstitutionally. "Proceedings have been initiated before the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, and then an appeal will follow before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg," Medojević said.
Looking back on the written statements about the search of the defendants' houses, lawyer Dražen Medojević, expressing his personal impression, said that they were mistreated, humiliated and assaulted without justifiable reason.
Special prosecutor Lidija Vukčević pointed out that this is legally valid evidence, because the searches were carried out secretly by the order of the investigating judge, with the acceptance of the proposal of the special prosecution.
"No one was mistreated, humiliated or frightened. "No one had any objections to the content of the minutes," emphasized the prosecutor.
