Thirty-six-year-old MP was arrested yesterday at the Clinical Center, and then brought in for questioning on the suspicion that she killed her newborn baby at the beginning of April in Bijelo Polje, Zeta.
The police filed a criminal complaint against MP even earlier and suspected her of murdering a child during childbirth.
However, it was only yesterday that the conditions for her arrest were met, because her life was in danger for days.
The lifeless body of a newborn was found on April 6, in a pit on the MP's family estate in Zeta.
The infanticide was discovered the day before, after the employees of the Clinical Center of Montenegro informed the Podgorica police that a female person was admitted to their premises for medical assistance and her life was at risk, due to giving birth outside a medical institution.
"The police found the lifeless body of a newborn child through operational work in the field, as part of the police-prosecutor activity, and by searching the property and residence of a female person. The lifeless body was sent for an autopsy by order of the competent prosecutor. According to the order of the prosecutor, further measures and actions are taken. The investigation is in progress", was answered by "Vijesti" from the Police Directorate.
According to "Vijesti", the thirty-six-year-old woman told the doctors of the Clinical Center that she had gynecological problems, without mentioning that she had given birth not long before.
However, the doctors immediately discovered the truth and informed the police.
