The Nikšić police filed criminal charges against five people for criminal offenses in the area of property crime, causing general danger and forest theft, the Police Administration announced today.
The announcement states that after the Fire Service localized the fire in the town of Jasenovo Polje, which engulfed and damaged several properties and forests with an area of several hundred thousand square meters, which are owned by four people, the Nikšić police, in coordination with the competent state prosecutor, carried out an investigation on site with the presence of forest experts and fire experts.
"Through forensic analysis, officers of the Nikšić Security Center came to suspect that MV (62) on his property in the town of Jasenovo polje set fire to the remains of the cleaning of his property with an open flame. After that, it is suspected, he left the fire unattended and under control, due to which caused the fire to spread on a larger scale," the police administration said in a statement.
The press release added that the competent prosecutor was aware of the event and qualified the criminal offense as causing general danger.
"A criminal complaint has been filed against MV because of the suspicion that he committed this criminal act," the announcement reads.
The Police Administration also said that the police in Nikšić during April shed light on three crimes related to property crime.
The police arrested Š.N. (28) from Nikšić who, as is suspected, broke into the warehouse of a company on March 8 and stole copper cables worth around 1.400 euros.
"In this way, Š.N., it is suspected, committed the criminal offense of aggravated theft, and he was brought before the competent prosecutor, who ordered the suspect to be detained for up to 72 hours, until he is brought before the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Nikšić, who ordered him to be detained." , said the Police Administration.
The statement adds that the Nikšić police also shed light on the theft committed against the DP from Nikšić, from which two sports bikes were stolen from the yard of the family's house.
"The competent state prosecutor was informed of the incident, who qualified the criminal offense as theft. Based on the evidence collected, the police officers identified the minor AM from Nikšić as the perpetrator of this crime. The competent prosecutor for minors was informed of the above, according to the order against AM in regular proceedings a criminal report was filed on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of theft," said the Police Administration.
The announcement states that the police in Nikšić also identified the perpetrator of a serious theft committed on the night between September 16 and 17, 2015, to the detriment of the "Minipek" bakery, which is located within the Elementary School "Olga Golović" in Nikšić.
"This criminal offense is suspected to have been committed by SP (29) from Nikšić, who was taken into custody by order of the competent prosecutor, and a criminal report was filed against him in regular proceedings," said the Police Administration.
The announcement also adds that the Nikšić police filed a criminal complaint against S.Đ this month. (60) from Nikšić on suspicion of forest theft.
"As suspected, in January 2020, S.Đ. illegally felled nine fir trees owned by the state of Montenegro, with a total gross mass of 8.194 cubic meters," the announcement concludes.
