The police in Pljevlja arrested Velimir Čabarkapa (29) on the suspicion that he posted altered verses of the national anthem of Montenegro on a social network and thus exposed himself to ridicule.
"Acting on the information that on the evening hours of May 2, 2020, a person posted modified verses of the national anthem of Montenegro on his profile on a social network and thus exposed him to ridicule, the police in Pljevlja collected a notification for the record from V.Č . (29). The competent state prosecutor was informed, who stated that the actions of V.Č. contain the elements of the criminal offense of harming the reputation of Montenegro," the Police Administration announced.
It is added that the suspect was deprived of his liberty and brought to the competent prosecutor with a criminal complaint, who ordered him to be detained for up to 72 hours.
