The secretary of the Police Academy, Ljubiša Pejović, did not appear yesterday at the hearing at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, which suspects him of forgery, lawyer Sava Kostić told "Vijesta".
Kostić is the legal representative of the former intern of that educational institution, Milena Striković, who previously filed a criminal complaint against the Police Academy and an NGO, claiming that someone forged her signature on the monthly report on professional training, in which false information was entered.
Despite the report, Striković will most likely have the status of a witness and not a victim in that case, Kostić said.
"At today's hearing with prosecutor Maja Knežević at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, the suspect Pejović Ljubiša did not appear, although the injured party Milena Striković and lawyer Tomislav Miranović did appear on my proxy. The prosecutor informed Milena Striković that she cannot attend the hearing of the suspect because she is a witness in this proceeding," said lawyer Kostić.
He added that his colleague Miranović informed him that prosecutor Knežević did not prepare a report in front of them:
"Nor did she state who approached and whether the suspect Pejović was properly invited to the hearing that was scheduled for yesterday."
"In my opinion, Milena Striković should and must have the status of a victim in this proceeding, bearing in mind everything that happened in this case, because her rights were violated and threatened, which is decisive whether a person has the status of a victim or not. If the suspect was properly and timely informed about today's hearing at the prosecutor's office and did not come, the prosecutor is obliged to order his forced bringing for the next hearing," said lawyer Kostić.
IS HE INVITED?
He pointed out that the Podgorica Basic Prosecutor's Office has information on all those details, that is, that the case files must contain evidence as to whether Pejović was duly summoned:
"Well, they should be asked if the absence of the suspect from today's hearing is justified or unjustified and what the prosecution intends to do in that direction." Striković previously filed a criminal complaint against that Academy and an unknown person, and during the investigation, the ODT received the report of a graphological expert, after which Pejović was also a suspect. "Having regard to the report on graphological expertise, expert Mile Kontić... from which it follows that the disputed signature of 'Milena Striković', which is on the professional training report for the month of February... in the column 'acquainted with the report', was written Ljubiša Pejović, the state prosecutor appreciates that in this particular case there is a well-founded suspicion that Ljubiša Pejović committed the criminal offense of falsifying a document... which is why the case files... need to be transferred to the KT registry, against Ljubiša Pejović, and further measures and actions taken from the jurisdiction of this prosecutor's office", it is written in the prosecutor's document, which "Vijesti" had access to.
The Podgorica Prosecutor's Office previously replied that the case is under investigation.
"In the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, a case was established based on the marked report. The State Prosecutor undertakes the measures and actions provided for by law in order to determine decisive facts. The investigation is in progress", answered earlier the spokeswoman of the prosecution, prosecutor Milica Mandić.
From the Police Academy, however, they claimed at the time that they had not yet received any official opinion and position on the issue of establishing the facts, in connection with the graphological examination of the signatures on the reports on the performance of the trainee work of the former trainee Milena Striković.
