Alan Kožar, the leader of one of the strongest clans in Bar and an associate of the Skalarians, was killed yesterday in the continuation of the war between Montenegrin organized criminal groups.
In the same attack, Damir Hadžić from Užić was also liquidated, who was wanted by the Serbian authorities for participating in the liquidation of a high-ranking member of the Kavača criminal clan, Davorin Baltić.
A source from the top of the Police Administration said yesterday that Kožar and Hadžić were killed in Greece.
According to the same information, another person who was with Kožar and Hadžić at the time of the attack was wounded. This information, however, has not been officially confirmed.
Late last night, the Greek media published the news about the murder, but also conflicting information about where they were killed - some stated that the lifeless bodies of the two men were found in the parking lot of the villa, between Kanouli and Skidi, in South Corfu, while others said that they were killed in a rented to the apartment.
Slovenian passports were found with them, they report.
"Strong police forces are in the wider area of Halikounas to investigate the death of two Slovenians. According to the first information, the two men have been living on the island of Faiaka for a long time, and based on the first indications, they were killed," kerkyrasimera.gr reported.
The Montenegrin police did not officially announce the murder of Baranin. Unofficially, they believe that Kožar and Hadžić were killed in the continuation of the Montenegrin clan war, which has been raging for years.
More than 40 people were killed in that war. At the beginning of the year, also in Greece, one of the leaders of the Skaljars - Igor Dedović and one of the heads of the Podgorica branch of that clan, Stevan Stamatović, were killed.
WHO WAS THE LEATHER?
Alan Kožar has been registered as a security person of interest in police records for more than a decade.
He has a criminal record, has been repeatedly accused and suspected of serious crimes, and according to police data, he has been the leader of the strongest criminal clan in Bar for years, which closely cooperates with skaljakars and zemunka.
The Montenegrin judicial authorities sought him with an international warrant issued by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office due to the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization suspected of serious crimes.
The SDT accuses him of having organized a criminal group in Bar and Budva in 2016, whose members were Nišlija Milan Dinić and some still unknown persons, and whose task was to kill Slobodan Šaranović, a citizen of Danilovgrad.
They accused him of handing Dinić a "glock" and 2016 bullets, a "blackbarry" with a sim card - "and instructed him to take the life of the now deceased Slobodan Šaranović".
On December 24 of that year, Dinić allegedly handed Saranović a gun, a mobile phone and a card. Šaranović was killed a few months later - on March 11, 2017, in front of his apartment in the Dubovica neighborhood of Budva.
The killers approached him from behind in a black BMW and shot him with two different weapons.
According to local and regional media, as well as operational data of the security services, Kožar was a man trusted by the leader of the Zemun clan, Luka Bojović.
The Bojović and Saranović families have been at war for years, and several people died in that war.
The murdered Slobodan Šaranović was accused of murdering Nikola Bojović, Luka's brother.
Allegedly, he ordered that murder out of revenge for the murder of his brother Branislav. Luka Bojović was in friendly contact with the Bar criminal group led by the martyred Luka Đurović.
According to the investigators' suspicions, it was Kožar who took over that clan, after Đurović died in a traffic accident.
Kožar was on trial on charges that he organized the installation of an explosive device under the car of the police commander in Bar, Ivan Đoković. He was legally acquitted of those charges.
He was arrested with the group accused of murdering Slavoljub Šćekić. In that case, he was sentenced to a prison sentence of six years and ten months, for planting three explosions at the construction site of the "Splendid" hotel in Bečići and for attempting to extort businessman Žarko Radulović, co-owner of the hotel. He served that sentence in 2013.
A close friend of Kožar, Baranin Zijad Nurković (24) was wounded last year in Malaga.
HADŽIĆ - THE PANTHER AND THE KILLER?
A warrant was issued for the murdered Hadžić for the murder of one of the high-ranking members of the Kavac clan - Davorin Baltić.
Baltić was killed in Belgrade on January 1, 2018, while he was entering the garage of the building in Vračar where he lived in a "Golf 7".
The two attackers fired a barrage of bullets at him, leaving him no chance to survive.
The Serbian policewoman, Marija Nikolić, who was in the car with Baltić, was not injured.
Earlier that day, she was walking on Kopaonik with Baltić and hooligan Uroš Ljubojević, close friends of Kavača.
Serbian police established six months later that Hadžić was connected to that murder.
Allegedly, the camera footage recorded that, days before the murder, he used the car that Baltić's executioners used to escape after the crime.
Hadžić has been known to the Serbian police for years and was considered an important man for Filip Korać and an associate of Igor Dedović.
He is also linked to a series of robberies and robberies of jewelers and goldsmiths across Europe. He was arrested in Milan after an attempted robbery of an armored vehicle for transporting money.
In 2012, he was wounded in a shooting in a betting shop in Užice.
