This morning, the Podgorica police served a summons to Dražen Živković, the editor of the "Borba" portal, in order to collect information from him in his capacity as a citizen, as one of the four people who were the organizers and leaders of the undeclared public gathering in the movement that was held last night in Podgorica, at which , as announced by the Police Administration, violated the measures of the Ministry of Health on preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
"D.Ž. (40) is one of the four people who organized and led an unannounced public gathering in the movement attended by about 300 citizens, which moved from Kuč to the Cathedral of the Resurrection. On the plateau in front of the church, there were about 2.000 of citizens where a group of citizens from Kuč joined and they all continued to move through the streets of the capital."
Apart from Živković, the organizers and leaders of this gathering were, as the police add, SM (51), MR (40) and DP (53).
"D.Ž. together with these three persons led the aforementioned public gathering where the prescribed measures and orders of the Ministry of Health on preventing the spread of the coronavirus were not respected, so there is no word about pressure on independent journalism as this person states on the portal he is the editor of." according to the police.
Portal Borba previously announced that this morning the police were looking for Živković at his parents' house, in order to hand him a summons for the hearing due to yesterday's gathering in Kuči, from which, as they claim in that media, he was reporting as a journalist. It was announced that Živković "considers police pressure as a continuation of his persecution and the denial of his right to work."
"Hearings, collection of information, and analysis and documentation of the collected materials are ongoing, all with the aim of prosecuting the aforementioned persons and filing criminal charges. In addition, two persons were sanctioned for misdemeanor offenses from Article 23 of the Law on Public Order and Peace. For displaying the flag in other states, misdemeanor charges were filed against BV (46) and NM (16)," the police added.
For the purpose of checking, one vehicle was confiscated, five persons were sanctioned under the Road Traffic Safety Act and one under the Identity Card Act.
"The police in Danilovgrad and Kolašin, due to public gatherings in the movement where several measures and orders of the Ministry of Health were violated, identified as the organizers of the gatherings of JP in Danilovgrad and RK in Kolašin. Official measures and actions to file criminal charges are underway," he concludes. in the police statement.
