The Basic State Prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica ordered Milena Orlandić, suspected of the criminal offense of destroying voting documents, to be detained for up to 72 hours after the hearing, prosecutor Milioca Mandić, the spokeswoman for that prosecutor's office, told "Vijesta".
Orlandić, a representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), was arrested yesterday after the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in Podgorica reported that she tried to hide and destroy ballot control coupons.
"The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica heard the MoD as a suspect and ordered her to be detained for a maximum of 72 hours due to suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of destroying voting documents," said prosecutor Mandić.
