Prevented murder of Jovan Vukotić?

In Kotor yesterday, the liquidation of the alleged leader of the Skaljar criminal clan, Jovan Vukotić, was prevented, it was confirmed to "Vijesta" unofficially from the top of the Police Administration.

That institution claims that they did it by arresting Petar Mujović from Nikšić.

Sources close to Vukotić, however, said that Mujović, in front of the Kotor Security Department, was disarmed by the Kotor bodyguard Dragoljub Ćetković.

According to "Vijesti" information, Mujović was following Vukotić in his vehicle, who was stopped by the police in front of the Vrmac tunnel yesterday around 15 pm.

After they told him that he had to go to the police premises to collect information from him, Vukotić asked to be served with a summons.

"After almost an hour, they brought a summons and went to the station. While Jovan was sitting inside, he saw that one of the policemen was bringing in a 'Czech zbrojevka' and told them that he could shoot it. There was a commotion, and then Ćetković came in and told him - 'I caught him, with a bullet in the barrel of the gun'. Vukotić asked who, and the latter explained that this Mujović, whom he disarmed in front of the police station, followed them all the time, even for almost an hour while they were waiting for the hearing," said one of Vukotić's defense attorneys, lawyer Branko Anđelić.

Vukotić told Vijest last night that he will no longer leave his life in anyone's hands.

"I have left the house twice since I was released and both times the police want to arrest me, before that they search my cars, they keep me on the street like a clay pigeon. From now on, if anything happens to me, my family and friends will hold the police directly responsible," said the Kotor resident.

Vukotić was recently released from the Investigation Prison, in which he was charged with the attempted murder of Vojin Stupar and Miloš Radonjić. He was acquitted of those charges.
