The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica is investigating whether Ivan Đurović (29) was tortured or abused in the Danilovgrad Security Department.
The spokesperson of that ODT, prosecutor Vukas Radonjić, told "Vijesta" that the case was formed after the prosecutor, to whom Đurović was detained for the criminal offense of failure to comply with health regulations for the prevention of a dangerous infectious disease, stated that he had visible injuries.
"The state prosecutor ordered a physical examination of the suspect by a court expert in the field of forensic medicine and, ex officio, formed a criminal case in order to establish the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of torture or criminal abuse was committed by police officials," the prosecutor explained. Radonjic.
The 25-year-old surrendered to the police on October 56, a day after the Police Administration unofficially told the media that he was wanted for the murder of fellow citizen Zoran Pavićević (XNUMX).
"Vijesti" then announced that it is possible that Đurović escaped from the inspectors the day before because of the thefts for which they allegedly suspect him, and that he denied any connection with the murder, insisting that he be questioned on a polygraph.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", the police did not do that, nor, according to his defense lawyer, lawyer Darko Dragović, did they question him in any capacity about the murder.
"He was heard as a defendant for violating the measures of the National Coordinating Body (NKT). "Judge Željko Raičević rejected the proposal to order him into custody and imposed a measure prohibiting him from leaving the building where he lives, due to the risk of repeating the criminal act of failure to comply with health regulations for the prevention of a dangerous infectious disease," said lawyer Dragović. He also confirmed that the case was established to determine the manner in which Đurović was injured.
"When he was taken to the hearing for violating the measures, the prosecutor stated that he was injured and called the court expert Nemanja Radojević, who examined him. We are waiting for the expert's findings and opinion, and we will see what Đurović, who has the status of a victim witness in that case, will say about everything," said Dragović.
He emphasized that Đurović, after surrendering, was brought to OB Danilovgrad without any injuries.
The police, however, deny this, claiming that they found him injured.
That security institution only yesterday, four days after the murder of Pavićević, officially announced the crime.
The press release came a few hours after "Vijesti" asked the Police Directorate if Đurović was beaten by the Danilovgrad police and forced to confess to the murder of a fellow citizen.
The questions were sent to them after "Vijesti" reporters noticed injuries on Đurović when the police brought him to the Basic Court building in Danilovgrad.
"According to the person I.Đ. None of the inspectors and other officers of the Police Administration used force, nor were they forced to confess to any criminal act," the police claim.
They explain that Đurović spent the day and night in the mountainous area and that "immediately after he learned to surrender, the police called I.Đ. carried out at the Danilovgrad Health Center in order to determine and ascertain the visible injuries he had on himself, about which the police also have a medical report".
They point out that Đurović was arrested for violating the measures of the NKT and that, during his stay in the detention facilities, officers of the Office for Human Rights visited him.
"During the stay of person I.Đ. in the detention facilities, he was given medical help on two occasions due to his great agitation, which was stated in the medical reports", claim the police.
No clue to the killer
Danilovgrad police are at a dead end and have no clue to the killer of Zoran Pavićević (56), who was killed in the night between November 23 and 24 in the local pizzeria "Obala".
Over the past few days, the inspectors have questioned almost everyone who was spotted in Danilovgrad at dawn on the 24th, because they mostly came to work early.
Although, a few hours after the crime, the Police Administration unofficially claimed that they knew who the murderer was, they did not mention it in the official statement yesterday.
"Officials of the Police Administration are taking extensive measures and actions with the aim of elucidating the criminal act of murder, which was committed to the detriment of ZP in the area of Danilovgrad... For the sake of informing the public, we inform you that the activities to elucidate the murder continue, and that a large the number of traces whose expert examination is in progress", claim the UP.
They also tried to explain why Đurović was arrested after the crime in Danilovgrad, without mentioning why they told the media a few hours after the murder that they were looking for that Danilovgrad citizen.
"Based on operational data from the field, the police learned that the person I. Đ. on the critical night, he was observed several times in the city, after which the police took official action against him and other persons in order to establish an alibi at the time of the criminal act of murder.
The officials of the Danilovgrad Security Department, as part of the activities undertaken to investigate the murder, set out to I. Đ. served a summons to come to the official premises to give a statement in the capacity of a citizen, when I. Đ inexplicably ran away. By searching the terrain, which was extremely inaccessible due to its configuration, certain items and traces were found which are still in the expert examination phase", claim the UP.
Family outraged
Lawyer Darko Dragović told "Vijesti" that the Đurović family is outraged by the media's writing, that is, bringing the twenty-nine-year-old into connection with the murder of Pavićević.
"There is no criminal complaint against him, nor any action taken against him that would indicate that he is suspected of the criminal offense of murder. Because of that, he was not even questioned, in any capacity," said Dragović.
The Police Administration previously unofficially told the media that they were looking for him for the murder of Pavićević.
