The president of the NGO Montenegrin Cultural Network, Aleksandar Damjanović, was heard today as a witness in the investigation phase, initiated by the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, in order to try to determine who was the organizer of the Patriotic Rally in the capital on September 6 this year.
Damjanović said in a statement to "Vijesta" that he was disappointed by the call from ODT, and that for him this gesture was a "shot at the state".
"I told the prosecutor Ivana Vuksanović that the organizer of the rally is a patriotic heart. It was organized spontaneously by the citizens, because they are concerned about the state concept and it was a response to Greater Serbian nationalism, which has occupied us for the past few months," said Damjanović.
In his statement, he stated that through his organization he invited citizens to come to the meeting, but he repeated that he does not know who organized it and that he had nothing to do with it.
"It is true that I invited the citizens, but I myself was surprised that day when I saw how many people gathered in the square. I have to admit that I saw a lot of them that day, who were exclusively defending real estate and money", he said and emphasized that he did not know who "installed the stage".
The president of the CKM added that he is not surprised by the prosecution's move if it is known that Zoran Pažin is the head of the Ministry of Justice, who "coddled with the Serbian Orthodox Church in stealing holy places"...
ODT Podgorica previously interviewed TVCG journalist Nebojša Šofranc, who hosted the program that day. They tried to find out from him who hired him for that job.
The ODT in Podgorica formed a criminal case on the occasion of the Patriotic rally, held on September 6 this year, in order to determine who was the organizer of the gathering, which, according to the Police Administration's estimates, was attended by about 50.000 people that day.
All of this would not have been disputed if it had not happened at the height of the global pandemic and at a time when Montenegro was at the top of the list in terms of the largest number of cases infected with the coronavirus.
The patriotic gathering was organized a few days after the parliamentary elections were held in Montenegro. On the night of August 31 and September 1, after a decade-long change of government, the state did not even prevent the celebration in front of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.
