The parents of Baranin Adis Spahić (33) say that they have not known anything about their son for almost a month and a half, not even if he is alive.
They told Vijesti that they still only know that on October 14, around 11 a.m., he left Bar to take Damir Hodžić's brother-in-law somewhere, who recently changed his first and last name and since then is David Begović.
According to Spahić, the police have been saying the same thing since October 15, when they reported their son's disappearance - that they are working on the case.
"I am with the police every day, yesterday I sent a message to the inspector and he replied - 'We are waiting.' When I asked how much longer we should wait, he stopped answering. We have been hearing their 'we are waiting' since day one. First they were waiting for something from Serbia, then from somewhere else, then they are waiting again, and we have no information from the state authorities. This state of affairs is intolerable," said Addis' mother Mirsada.
He claims that the police officers will not listen to the people they mention to them, as those who might know something about Addis' disappearance.
"The day before Adis disappeared, Damir's father drove him via Tuđemil to Virpazar and returned through Sozina to Bar. The police waited for days to take a statement from him. To our statement that there might be a clue to Addis in Virpazar, because we know that he was seen there, the police replied that they know that Damir has a friend there and named him. However, they did not go there to listen to people who might help them," she said.
Spahići say that authorities in the Police Directorate and other state bodies are asking if they have children and how they would behave if something similar happened to them.
"Would they go through the agony we are going through, without any information from those who should give it to us. Addis is not a criminal, he has never dealt with crime. If out of ignorance he got involved in something, and in this case it was just to drive away the in-laws, does that mean he should be left to his own devices? Because of everything so far, we suspect that they are not doing anything about Addis's find and we wonder if they are suggesting that we organize the search ourselves, even though we know that we are limited due to the measures of the National Coordinating Body. Now, after a month and a half, during which the police are silent, all we have to do is go in front of the Security Center in Bar and kill ourselves there, so that we don't end this agony", said Mirsada Spahić.
She once again asked the police, the prosecutor's office and everyone else who can help - to take concrete measures in the search for Addis.
"And they tell us if he is alive or dead and where he is".
Spahić asked the police if they had listened to Hodžić's friend who lives in Virpazar, Hodžić's girlfriend, but also the entire family.
"Or they just listen to Addis's friends, who have no idea where he is. As for the police, I repeat, even if they can't find where Addis's trail is lost on the cameras, they have to see his car. They don't even know that, they're talking about it - he was seen in Spuz, Danilovgrad, Žabljak... They told us that his phone signal was last registered on the Union Bridge, but that five encrypted phones were allegedly turned off at the same time. After that, they asked if they could come and attach some devices to monitor our communication and us. We said yes, because we will agree to anything to find Addis. Alive or dead, but to find him", she said.
That Baranini disappeared on October 14, when he left his hair salon to "take Hodžić somewhere".
Police have been unable to track them down, but there is reportedly surveillance footage of the two in the same car. Allegedly, Hodžić has not been around since then.
Hodžić is one of the closest associates of the recently murdered Baranin Alan Kožar.
For years, that criminal group cooperated closely with the Zemun and Skaljar criminal clan.
