Nikšić's Petar Mujović was sentenced to five months in prison for illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, the spokesperson of the Basic Court in Kotor, judge Spiro Pavićević, confirmed to Vijesti.
The decision is not yet final.
Mujović, an alleged member of the Nikšić branch of the Kavac criminal clan, was disarmed and arrested on October 21 last year in front of the Kotor police station, where Jovan Vukotić was at the time.
After the arrest of Mujović, the top of the Police Administration informed "Vijesta" that the liquidation of the alleged leader of the Skaljar criminal clan was prevented in Kotor. Despite this, the police officially announced that the arrested person was charged "only" with illegal possession of a weapon.
Citing sources from the investigation, Vijesti Television announced after the action in Kotor that Mujović admitted that he had agreed to liquidate the resident of Kotor for half a million euros.
The Kotor inspectors then found an encrypted phone with the Nikšićan, allegedly containing the nicknames of the people who ordered Vukotić's murder. The identity of those persons has not been disclosed.
Officially, they said that Mujović was arrested near the official parking area of the Kotor Security Department, after the inspectors noticed that he was observing the building and the parking area.
"This person was legitimized and examined by police officers, during which they found a pistol 'Czech zbromovka CZP - 07' in illegal possession with the striker in the rear position, ready for use. The gun has a milled factory number with a frame in which there were 14 rounds of ammunition, as well as one round of ammunition in the gun barrel itself. Also, a mobile phone with crypto protection was found", they explained.
Mujović is the brother of Radovan Mujović, whom the police describes as a high-ranking member of the Nikšić Kavača.
Although he allegedly admitted to the inspectors that he was armed and waiting to kill Vukotić, in the prosecution he defended himself by remaining silent, and in front of the judge he said that he carried the gun for his own safety.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", Mujović has been following people with whom Vukotić is close for days...
Vukotić's legal team recently filed criminal charges against several police officers who in October ordered him to come to the Kotor police station, where he was allegedly being stalked by a hired killer.
One of Vukotić's legal representatives, lawyer Damir Lekić, described the events of that day in the report, stating that the police asked the man from Kotor to immediately report to the Security Department, but that no one asked him anything there, he just waited in the corridor.
While Vukotić, accompanied by the police and his private staff, was walking towards the entrance to the police station, Lekić further states, Petar Mujović was standing right in front of the main entrance, armed with a firearm and with an encrypted phone in his hand.
