Special Prosecutor Živko Savović asked his boss Milivoj Katnić, his colleague Sanja Jovićević and the head of the Special Police Department Dragan Radonjić to publicly announce whether he and his family are under investigation since he filed a criminal complaint against the chief special prosecutor.
On February 2, Savović filed a criminal complaint against Katnić and nine other people. He told "Vijesti" yesterday that of the nine applicants, eight are public officials.
"I would like to publicly ask the chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić, the head of the Special Police Department, Dragan Radonjić, and the special prosecutor Sanja Jovićević to answer this question individually, so that they do not hide behind the announcement of the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Police Directorate, that is, the SPO , to answer the following question: Are I and my family members subject to prosecutorial and police checks and actions in the period from February 2, 02, when I filed a criminal complaint against Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoj Katnić and nine other persons, of whom are eight public officials, to tell me whether and when a case was formed in connection with those checks in the SDT and to tell me whether special prosecutor Sanja Jovićević is acting in that case", said Savović.
That special prosecutor clarified that the basis of the report he filed against Katnić and nine other persons, which he explained, is derived from countless relevant evidence:
"Which are placed in the court files in the Court of Appeal, in the High Court regarding the 'coup d'état' case, as well as in the prosecution files in which special prosecutor Saša Čađenović acted and in which I acted, and the bulk of the evidence is also at ZIKS in the official documentation of ZIKS".
He also said that, at the end, he has a message for Katnić, Jovićević and Radonjić.
"To Milivoje Katnić, Dragan Radonjić and Sanja Jovićević, 1948 was a long time ago," said special prosecutor Savović.
SDT formed a case after Savović's report, and since the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office submitted to them the criminal report of a colleague who submitted accusations against Katnić's work in the "coup d'état" case, as well as against special prosecutor Saša Čađenović and judge Suzana Mugoša.
Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić then confirmed to "Vijesta" that the case was assigned by a colleague from SDT, and that it is being worked on.
"I am surprised by prosecutor Savović's report, but let all the allegations be checked and a decision made," said Katnić at the beginning of February.
He then urged that all those who have something against his work should not wait "but submit reports as soon as possible"...
"I encourage no one to wait, I invite everyone to do so if they have information. Of course, they will also bear the responsibility for false reporting if it is determined that the statements are not true," emphasized Katnić.
"Vijesti" previously announced that Savović, who has been in the SDT since 2015, submitted accusations against the work of the GST in proceedings against the former General of the Gendarmerie Bratislav Dikić, who was accused of participating in the "coup".
Special Prosecutor Savović told "Vijesta" a few days ago that he filed a complaint against Katnić, Čađenović, Judge Suzana Mugoša...
He explained that he discovered the illegalities that he pointed out in the report while working on the case he assigned on October 19. in 2020.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", the work in question is based on the criminal complaint filed by the leaders of the Democratic Front, Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević.
Leaders of the Democratic Front, Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević, filed a criminal complaint against Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoj Katnić, Special Prosecutor Saša Čađenović, Acting Supreme State Prosecutor Ivica Stanković and the Judicial Council.
As Knežević said, they filed the complaint because they "did nothing" after the testimony of the former commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie Bratislava Dikić that Katnić and Čađenović secretly took him from Spuž to an interrogation to give statements.
Verdict failed, charge exceeded
At the beginning of the week, the Council of the Court of Appeal overturned the verdict of the colleagues from the High Court, by which Mandić, Knežević, Dikić, several Serbian and Russian citizens, were convicted of attempted terrorism on the day of the parliamentary elections on October 16, 2016.
In the explanation of the verdict, they wrote that the first-instance decision is not clear, but also that the panel of judge Suzana Mugoša overstepped the charge by violating the objective identity, but also that the explanation of their decision was unclear and to a considerable extent contradictory, which is why they could not even examine with certainty the legality of making the decision .
