The defense of the president of Atlas Group, Duško Knežević, submitted a criminal complaint to the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SST) against the special state prosecutor Milivoj Katnić because he did not act according to the law regarding the destruction of official documents, Atlas Group announced today.

"After the parliamentary elections, in the period from 31.08.2020 to 4.12.2020, Katnić did not undertake the actions provided for by law, which as the chief special prosecutor he was obliged to undertake and did not initiate criminal proceedings against civil servants of the National Security Agency (ANB) and civil servants of the Government of Montenegro, who destroyed official documentation in the period from the parliamentary elections until the formation of the new Government of Montenegro. "It is obvious that both the prosecution and the court are in a hurry to file an illegal and senseless indictment at any cost, in which the SDT accuses Duško Knežević of organizing a criminal group that would take money from Duško Knežević through Slavoljub Stjepović. In this criminal proceeding, as everyone except Milivoj Katnić knows, the truth is that Duško Knežević was forced to finance DPS through Slavoljub Stjepović, while the chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić pressured Duško Knežević's drivers to give false statements in with which they would make false claims that they exchanged money on the order and for the needs of the Democratic Front," Đukanović announced. Atlas Group said that in the criminal proceedings it was established that there is no criminal responsibility for Knežević's drivers, and they also said that SDT and Katnić are still holding Vlatko Rašović as a hostage, who has the role of an accomplice witness.

"The defense of Duško Knežević will propose in this criminal proceeding the questioning of Milo Đukanović, the President of Montenegro, on whose orders the chief special prosecutor acted, as well as the officials of the Special State Prosecutor's Office who are aware that Milivoje Katnić undertook the described actions. The truth is clear and inexorable: Duško Knežević did not organize a criminal group, but Milo Đukanović organized a criminal group in order to take money from Duško Knežević. Slavoljub Stjepović took 97.000 euros for his personal needs and the needs of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), and the actions of Milivoj Katnić and his bosses from the DPS represent criminal actions that must be prosecuted as such before the prosecution, which will be ready to perform its legally mandated function," Đukanović said.
