Dragan Kontić said yesterday in the High Court that he told the prosecutors about the conversation with Vuk M. Lalatović from Nikšić, when the latter, as he claims, told him during a walk around the Pre-trial Prison that he killed Ratko Vuletić for the account of Andrija Marković and Miloš Božović for 200.000 euros.

Kontić testified before the criminal panel of judge Vesna Moštrokol, in the continuation of the trial of Lalatović, accused of killing a fellow citizen on August 1, 2019 in Nikšić.

The witness announced that he said this in the prosecution in order to protect Peko Đikanović from the falsehoods that Lalatović, with the help of his lawyer, spread in the media.

The defendant objected to the testimony of the witness, stating that it was not true.

Lalatović said at the hearing in the investigation that Đikanović asked him in prison to say that he killed Vuletić at the urging of Marković and Božović, "all in order to help Pek get a shorter prison sentence."

"I have enough of my own problems and I regret what I did. I would have regretted it even more if I had agreed to participate in Pek's circus. If Dačo (Dragan) had any sense, he would not lie and tell such untruths," said the accused. Kontić said that Lalatović told him during a walk around the pre-trial prison that he used Ratko Višnjić to get in touch with the late Vuletić.

"He told me that he approached Vuletić with some story that he was selling weapons, and then he took out a gun and shot him, after which he ran away and surrendered to the police," said Kontić.

He added that the accused told him that both Radovan Mujović and Darko Janjić should have been killed.

"Lalatović told me that he should have shot at them with a sniper, but that he didn't know that," claims Kontić.

He added that the claims he made in the investigation are correct - that he had a problem with Mujović before and stated that he believes that Lalatović told him about the planning of that liquidation because he thought he would be delighted with that information.

"Since Lalatović's letter appeared in the media, in which falsehoods were presented against Peko Đikanović - that he published the letters that Vuk sent him in order to extort his freedom, I decided to write to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office," said Kontić.

When asked by Lalatović's defense attorney, lawyer Milan Kovačević, the witness said that Đikanović and he were being brought to the High Court together with the same police for the trial for the murder of Mijušković.

Answering a question from lawyer Velibor Marković, Kontić said that he is related to the accused Andrija Marković by blood, that is, that their grandfathers were brothers.

The defense attorney stated that the testimony of the witness was given in order to obtain privileges from state authorities, evaluating it as contradictory and unreliable. According to the indictment, Lalatović committed the murder at the urging of Andrija Marković and Miloš Božović. They are tried in absentia.

The indictment presented that Lalatović committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder in connection with the illegal possession of a weapon, while Marković and Božović were accused of intentionally inciting him to kill Vuletić out of self-interest.

"The defendant Marković and Božović promised the defendant Lalatović a monetary reward for the murder of Vuletić. The defendant Vuk Lalatović killed Vuletić on August 1, 8 at around 2019 a.m. in Njagoševa Street in Nikšić out of self-interest. He first asked to meet him, when he presented and asked them to walk alone and talk, so that when they separated and came to the front of the store, he suddenly pulled out a 'red flag' pistol, which he was holding without authorization, and fired six shots at Vuletić, after which he died. Marković was accused of aggravated murder by incitement, and Božović aggravated murder by incitement and aiding and abetting," the indictment reads.
