Lj.K. (29) from Kotor was extradited from Spain to Montenegro, the Police Administration announced this evening.
The announcement states that officers of the Crime Fighting Sector - Department for International Operational Police Cooperation INTERPOL Europol SIRENE with the assistance of officers of the Special Purpose Police Sector carried out the extradition of an internationally wanted person from Spain to Montenegro.
"The extradition of Lj.K. (29) from Kotor, who is wanted under an international warrant issued by the NCB INTERPOL Podgorica by order of the High Court in Podgorica, was carried out in order to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings that are being conducted against him before this court for criminal offenses attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons and explosives," the statement said.
The Police Administration said that Lj.K. claims due to the well-founded suspicion that on May 31, 2016 in Kotor, in the Dobrota settlement, together with the accused MB, he tried to kill RM by firing several projectiles in the direction of the vehicle in which the victim was traveling, which hit his vehicle, after of which they fled from the scene.
"We note that on August 22, 2020, based on a months-long investigation of a targeted search in Spain, Lj.K. was located and arrested. The Higher State Prosecutor's Office from Podgorica worked closely with several targeted search teams within ENFAST - the European Network of Targeted Search Teams, which eventually led to the location of the person in question. Lj.K. was handed over to the competent court for further jurisdiction." , the announcement concludes.
