Miodrag Šćepanović, the director of the "Mirko Srzentić" elementary school in Petrovac, filed a criminal complaint with the Budva police against the secretary of that school. Goran Ivanovic, because of the suspicion that he took money from the account for the salaries of six employees and severance pay for a retired teacher.
Šćepanović told "Vijesta" that he established that Ivanović falsified the statements, after which he suspended him from work, initiated disciplinary proceedings and filed a criminal complaint with the police.
The affair at the school broke out on May 1, after six workers did not receive their salaries.
Those familiar with the events told "Vijesti" that it was a small collective and that it was quickly discovered that the school's secretary had taken the wages of some of the employees.
According to the same information, Ivanovic disappeared without a trace and switched off his mobile phone.
Some of the employees said that they tried to contact him by phone without success.
They said that they suspected that he could not have carried out the action alone, but that he had a helper in the bank.
One of the interlocutors of "Vijesti" claims that the teacher who retired in January was the first to notice that something was wrong - every day she was waiting for a severance payment of 1.200 euros.
"However, Ivanovic told her that the Ministry of Education did not pay the money. When she checked, she was told that the money was paid back on March 30 and that it was withdrawn from the account," said the interlocutor of "Vijesti".
The workers who did not receive their salary also alerted the educational institution.
Director Šćepanović told "Vijesta" that he noticed that the excerpts he received by email from Ivanović were fake.
"He was suspended and I filed a criminal complaint. We presented the entire case to the Ministry of Education, and they approved that six workers be paid their wages again. The money is secured and it will be settled. We will do our best to pay the severance pay," Šćepanović said.
He explained that Ivanovic worked as a secretary at the "Mirko Srzentić" school for the previous four and a half years.
"I have been the director for the past two years. I ordered a complete audit to be carried out, in order to determine whether there was malfeasance in the earlier period as well", emphasized Šćepanović.
"Vijesti" was told by the Budva police that the investigation is ongoing and that is why they cannot provide more details.
