Sanja Aničić, judge of the Basic Court in Pljevlja rejected the lawsuit of the former chief imam of the Husein Pasha mosque in Pljevlji, Samir Kadribašić, who sued the president of the Municipal Board of Nova in Pljevlji, Milan Lekić, for insulting his honor and reputation.
The court obliged Kadribašić to pay 363 euros for the costs of the proceedings.
Kadribašić has the right to appeal the verdict to the High Court in Bijelo Polje within 15 days.
The former imam of the Pljeval mosque demanded from Lekić compensation for non-material damages in the amount of 10.000 euros and the publication of the verdict in all daily newspapers in Montenegro, due to the allegations he made as a councilor at the session of the local parliament at the end of last year about the alleged involvement of Kadribašić in the events after the parliamentary elections. last year.
In a statement delivered to the media, Lekić stated that he was satisfied with the verdict of the Basic Court in Pljevlje, because in this way justice was fully served. He claims that there was not a single valid reason for Effendi Kadribašić to initiate a court process against him.
Lekić says that it was about public reactions that had only one goal, to reveal the real initiators and perpetrators of the unpleasant events in Pljevlja after the parliamentary elections.
"I said it then, and I'll say it again now. The main reason why I reacted is that I felt the need to, as a politician and councilor in the Municipal Council of Pljevlja, exert additional pressure on the institutions of the system to solve the case due to which the stigma of responsibility for such heinous phenomena. I will remind you that, immediately after those incidents, I was contacted by a large number of people who presented me with their suspicions regarding the drawing of graffiti and the breaking of glass on the premises of the Islamic Community. It was precisely such an atmosphere that motivated me to react, because, quite simply, I felt it as an obligation - both as a human being and as a public figure and politician. In this sense, I will remind you of the letter of a certain Osman Kriještorac, who just called out Kadribašić on Facebook, but also M. B and MA as prominent officials of the former regime", he pointed out.
Commenting on Kadribašić's motives for filing a lawsuit against him, Lekić said that "Kadribašić's intention to benefit materially in this case suffered a well-deserved failure."
"Kadribašić did not experience any discomfort due to my public reactions, for the simple reason that they were not malicious or offensive on my part - which, after all, can be concluded from the verdict. It was I who was subjected to a barrage of insults by Kadribašić, who commented on my activities on his Facebook profile in the most disgusting way possible. And not only me, but the object of his 'poisonous arrows' were also the Serbian Orthodox Church, the blessed metropolitan of Amfilohije, as well as the tradition and history of the Serbian people," Lekić emphasized.
He said that the New Serbian Democracy, and he personally, will monitor the final outcome of the shameful attempt to label the Serbian people in Pljevlje as fascists and xenophobes, expressing his belief that, as he said, justice will be finally served in this case.
