Mirko Ilić (57) from Nikšić, suspected of desecrating the memorial bust of national hero Čedmori Ljub Čupić, was questioned in the Nikšić prosecutor's office, but due to the lawyers' strike, he will not be detained. This was announced by ODT Nikšić, explaining that Ilić was interrogated on grounds of suspicion that he had committed a criminal offense - violation of a grave from Article 411 paragraph 2 in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
"Due to the suspension of the work of lawyers, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was not able to order detention for the suspect. All the invited lawyers refused to be appointed as ex officio defense counsel in the aforementioned case, in accordance with the Decision of the Bar Association of Montenegro on the declaration of a general suspension of the provision of legal assistance by lawyers from May 17.05.2021, XNUMX.
