The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar sent a request to the competent court to issue search warrants for all hangars in the customs terminal of the Port of Bar after a valuable shipment of cigarettes disappeared from the customs warehouse in that port city over the weekend.
If the court approves the request of the prosecution, a large police operation and searches of all customs warehouses in the Port of Bar will follow, after which it will be precisely determined how many and what kind of cigarettes and which companies are in the port's warehouses.
The police administration and the prosecutor's office have been investigating for days how a large quantity of cigarettes disappeared from the hangar of the customs warehouse in the Port of Bar, most likely on Friday evening, and who was involved in the theft of the valuable cargo and with what motive.
The head of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar, Radovan Đurišić, told "Vijesti" that the prosecuting attorney has sent a request to the court to issue orders to search warehouses in Port of Bar.
"The prosecutor issued a request for the exclusion of video surveillance, an order to carry out an inventory of goods in the relevant hangar, and also sent a request to the court to issue search warrants for other hangars - warehouses within the Port of Bar", said Đurišić.
The head of the ODT in Bar told "Vijesti" that 1.182 packages of "Marble" cigarettes, whose purchase value per box is 80 euros, disappeared from the warehouse.
Due to the theft of cigarettes, the Police Department started hearings. So far, statements have been taken from the owners of the companies "Aurora" and "Atlant Mont", as well as several other persons who were in charge of guarding the warehouse.
The mysterious disappearance of cigarettes from customs warehouses was discovered on Saturday around 11,30:XNUMX a.m. when the UP notified the ODT in Bar, which immediately opened a case and launched an investigation.
The first data from the police investigation indicate that the theft was very well organized and that several people were involved in the robbery of cigarette packages.
Cigarettes were taken from the hangar by a tow truck, after previously unknown persons broke the chains in the customs warehouse.
The theft of 1.182 packs of cigarettes followed claims that cigarettes were being smuggled through Luka Bar, which is why the police recently searched Luva Bar. In order to stop the smuggling of cigarettes, the government announced that it will ban the storage of cigarettes in the free zone of the Port of Bar.
