A nine-year-old boy from the Andrijevac village of Sjenožeta was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon in a bar fight in Trešnjevik, as a result of which he was transferred to the Clinical Center in Podgorica for treatment with head injuries.
Officers of the Police Administration in Berane arrested Radomir Marjanović (31) from Andrijevica, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of "serious bodily harm" in combination with the criminal offense of "violent behavior to the detriment of minors".
The boy was in a tavern with DI's father and his friend, when there was an argument on ethnic grounds, insults, and then a fight with Marjanović and his cousin, who were sitting at the next table.
"RM physically attacked DI (46) and R.Č, during which DI (46) suffered minor injuries in the face area. During the physical confrontation, RM pushed a wooden table that hit a minor, causing him to suffer serious injuries in the form of a skull fracture," the police said in a statement.
Members of the police collected information from several people about the circumstances of this event.
Marjanović was taken to the state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane, who ordered him detained for up to 72 hours after the hearing.
Misdemeanor charges will be filed against the other participants of this event for violations of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
"The injured boy underwent surgery and his condition is stable," the police informed "Vijesti".
