Stanković 10 months in prison

The High Court in Bijelo Polje accepted the plea agreement of the defendant Stevan Stankovic (28) from Sremska Mitrovica concluded with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office, for attempting to transfer hemp from Serbia to Montenegro.

According to that agreement, the defendant accepted a prison sentence of 10 months, because he admitted that he committed a criminal offense - unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.

"The plea agreement concluded between the state prosecutor is approved Tanje Nišavić and the defendant Stanković and his ex-officio lawyer Dejan Krunić", it was announced from the High Court in Bijelo Polje.

Stanković is accused of having illegally imported 15 grams of the narcotic drug hemp from the Republic of Serbia into Montenegro on May 35,1.

"By a detour, past the Dračenovac border crossing, he brought three PVC packages of drugs into Montenegro, which he hid inside his pants in the groin area," the prosecutor's document states.

The trial of the defendant Stanković was supposed to begin on November 2, but it was postponed at the request of the defendant's defense attorney because he requested a postponement in a written submission due to negotiations on concluding a plea agreement with the Prosecutor's Office.
