Veselin Pejović, the owner of the Podgorica Aluminum Plant (KAP), was released after a hearing in the Court for Misdemeanors.
Pejović did not want to give a statement to journalists after the hearing.
He was arrested last night in Podgorica for threatening the director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Milan Gazdić, "Vijesti" was informed unofficially by several sources from the Police Directorate.
According to the same information, Pejović called the director of the Agency late last night because of the decision issued to KAP, according to which he is obliged to pay 600.000 euros to the state.
Allegedly, he first threatened to report him to the Special State Prosecutor's Office, and after the Director of the Agency told him to do so freely, he started cursing, insulting and threatening him in other ways.
He was arrested after the director's report, and he will be brought before the magistrate this morning.
Today, the Police Administration officially announced that yesterday in the Podgorica Security Center, the director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Milan Gazdić, filed a report against the VP, in which he stated that the VP insulted and threatened him over the phone.
"The state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about the event, who assessed that the VP's actions did not constitute the elements of a criminal offense for which the prosecution is undertaken ex officio, and therefore the police officers deprived the VP of his freedom due to offenses under Articles 7 and 8 of the Law on public order and peace. This morning, this person is scheduled to be taken to the competent misdemeanor court," the Police Administration said in a statement.
