Only with the joint action of all competent authorities can the areas of national parks, and therefore the most important plant and animal species in Montenegrin protected areas, be effectively protected, the National Parks of Montenegro said.
Kolašin police announced yesterday that they have identified the persons who shot a deer in the Biogradska gora National Park in mid-November.
Vuk Delević (21), Marko Bojičić (23) and Luka Raičević (22) from Beran were arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of illegal hunting.
"The National Parks of Montenegro are grateful to all competent state bodies, especially the Kolašin Security Department, headed by Chief Zoran Braunović, for the assistance provided to the Protection Service of the Biogradska Gora National Park and for the efficient handling of the proceedings in connection with the case of deer poaching in this protected area. We expect that and judicial authorities to take all measures within their jurisdiction," said JPNPCG director Jelena Kljajević.
