The company "Bemax" confirmed to "Vijesta" that as of this morning the police "joined the control", adding that since the beginning of the story about the exploitation of gravel from the Morača River, they have been constantly controlled by all institutions.
"As part of those controls, there is also the control of the Police Administration," said Bemax.
Several sources from the Police Administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs told Vijesti this morning that inspectors from the Department for the Suppression of Economic Crime are in Bemax and are checking their operations. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) explained yesterday that the company's operations are being checked by order of the Interdepartmental Team that controls the illegal exploitation of gravel from Montenegrin rivers.
The State Secretary in that Government department, Rade Milošević, confirmed this information and announced new, "fierce actions".

"We fundamentally suspect that 'Bemax' was working contrary to the agreed obligations. We have videos showing that their trucks, from other companies, are taking illegally extracted gravel. The previous regime allowed them to behave like that, but that has come to an end. In addition to economic crime inspectors, the Tax Administration also conducts controls, and all tax and police inspectors participating in that action will be under the scrutiny of the Interdepartmental Team," said Milošević.
Commenting on his allegations, Bemax replied that it was completely untrue:
"And the attempt of another construction to present falsehoods and half-truths to the company Bemax that it committed economic crimes in the course of its business, which, to anyone who has any understanding of the mentioned issue, is clear that it is simply impossible and unnecessary".
