Trial for the beating of Sadiković: An eyewitness to the beating changed his testimony in court

Radomir Dajević from Bielsko-Biała, an eyewitness to the fisting and kicking of Sead Sadiković from the investigation, denied it today, claiming that he only saw "someone kicking the downed journalist".

He stated this in the Basic Court of Bjelopolje, before which his fellow citizens Edin Dizdarević (18) and Nermin Omerović (21) are charged with the crime of violent behavior.

According to the indictment, on March 20, during the patriotic rally, they cursed and then beat Sadiković, who had previously been knocked to the ground.

Dajević said that he saw Sadiković, who was crossing the street near the Municipality, when the driver of the "Audi" jerked the steering wheel as if joking, after which curses were heard from all sides, and the journalist ran after the vehicle.

"I heard the words: 'They killed a man, they killed themselves', I ran up and saw Sadiković lying, two or three people above him, one of whom kicked him a couple of times. I saw one face - an actor (Predrag Vukojević), who was trying to protect Sadiković," said Dajević.

He said that he did not see if and who hit Sadiković, but that he saw him lying down and holding a flag in his hands.

He said that then some of the guys who were around the journalists got into the vehicle that was there, which was part of the patriotic convoy.

Dajević said that he heard both Sadiković and the men from the "patriotic column" cursing each other.

"I heard curses from Sej addressed to them and from the people who were in his car, and that's where it all started," he said.

The same person, however, said in the investigation that he "heard someone from that vehicle swearing at Sadiković's mother", while today he said that he "assumed" it and did not hear it...

In the investigation, he also said that he saw that Sadiković was attacked by 4-5 people, and today that it was done by two or three people. He explained that in the second statement "he did not count himself and Vukojević among the people around Sadiković".

When asked to explain the differences in the investigation, when he claimed to have seen one person hit Sadiković twice with his fists, and a couple of kicks, Dajević again explained it with assumptions.

"I assumed that someone was hitting him, because he wouldn't have been down without someone," Dajević said, remaining true to today's testimony.

The injured party's attorney, lawyer Dalibor Kavarić, objected to the testimony of that witness, assessing that it was subjective, reducing the gravity of the defendants' actions: "Which represents assistance to the defendants and facilitating the position of the defendants in the proceedings."

Husein Crnovršanin, a security worker in the municipality, said that he saw 5-6 people attack Sadiković, who fell, and he also heard them swearing at him, but due to the distance, he did not recognize anyone.

He said he noticed that some of them had entered the vehicle from which they had previously exited.

Bojana Šaponjić said that she saw that Sadiković ran after a vehicle after someone cursed at him:

"My assumption was that someone from the vehicle said to Sadiković: 'J.... you mother', was the reason why the journalist ran after them. That's what I really think was the case", said Šaponjić, to which the lawyers of the accused Mihailo Volkov and Luka Brajković objected to her, that the witness should not deal with assumptions but with facts.

Omerović and Dizdarević denied having committed the criminal offense they are charged with.

Sadiković claimed that an organized, criminal, political group was behind the attack on him.

Commenting on the "strengthening" of the defense of the accused in the form of the presence of the lawyer from Podgorica, Mihailo Volkov, Sadiković said that the Democratic Party of Socialists thereby raised the stakes in this case to a higher level, fearing and protecting itself...

"I hope that with the inclusion of a third lawyer, the indictment will soon be extended to at least one more assailant or principal, who has not yet been discovered," Sadiković told "Vijesti".

The trial continues on February 4.

Politics, findings and "peaceful assembly"

Throughout the trial, Sadiković emphasized the political background of the attack on him, while lawyer Volkov pointed out that the journalist wanted to incriminate the peaceful patriotic gathering in Bijelo Polje.

It was announced that forensic medicine expert Dr. Nemanja Radojević will testify at the next hearing on Sadiković's injuries.

The defense of the accused objected to the medical report made in Bjelopolje Hospital, claiming that it was not valid, because it was made by Dr. Davor Bulatović, who is related to Sadiković through family ties.

Sadiković said that Dr. Bulatović is a relative of his wife through his mother, but that in addition to him, two other doctors examined him.
