The police are looking for "dirty conductors"

The police officers and customs officials who controlled the train on the route Belgrade - Bar yesterday morning had to go around the hidden parts of the carriage where the conductors and the host of the train are located, after which one of them was detained - Mirko Rmandic, who was released after a hearing.

Previously, members of the Podgorica Security Center and customs inspectors waited for that train in Bijelo Polje and started the inspection.

The Police Administration and the Revenue and Customs Administration told "Vijesta" that they found puppies and medication in the conductor's cabin.

"The police found three young dogs (puppies) and about 15 boxes of medicine in the conductor's cabin on the train traveling between Montenegro and Serbia. According to the procedure, the police filed a criminal complaint on the order of the prosecutor. The details of this action are in the possession of the officers of the Department for Economic Crime of the Police Administration", the Acting Director of the Revenue and Customs Administration told "Vijesta" Milena Petričević.

The interlocutor from the Police Administration explained that the action had been planned for days, after police officers and customs officials received operational information that certain conductors were involved in cross-border smuggling.

"Three puppies of a very expensive dog breed and medicines were found in the cabin. None of this was reported. In Podgorica, we took Rmandić out of the train that continued to Bar", said the interlocutor from UP.

From that institution, it was said that the primary state prosecutor on duty assessed that there was no element of a criminal offense in the actions of the conductor, who was taken out of the train by the police on suspicion of breaking the law by facilitating the illegal import of three puppies and medication.

"Vijesti" was told by the Police Administration that the prosecutor made such a statement after he was informed of the event.

Executive Director of Railway Transport of Montenegro Slaven Šestović He told "Vijesti" yesterday morning that he had no information about that event and referred the journalist to the public relations spokeswoman, who did not answer phone calls.

The interlocutor from that company explained that even going down to a customs violation, if the authorities so decide, is quite enough for Railway Transport to initiate proceedings against Rmandić.

"The conductor, nor the host of the train, do not have the right to do anything other than what is prescribed by the Rulebook and Article 109. Even if there is no criminal liability, but a misdemeanor, this is enough to initiate proceedings, because the company was damaged," he said. the same interlocutor.

The Ministry of Capital Investments, which is also responsible for Railway Transport, unofficially announced that they have been checking Rmandić for months.

"The anti-corruption department of the MKI formed a case during the summer and began to investigate the 'earlier works' of Rmandić," said the government department.
