BOK: SOCTA adopted, targeted organized criminal groups and threats to national security

At today's session of the Bureau for Operational Coordination (BOK), the SOCTA - Serious and Organized Crime Risk Assessment in Montenegro was adopted, which targets organized criminal groups and threats to the national security of Montenegro, the BOK announced.

They explained that the document was prepared by the Interdepartmental Operational Team composed of representatives of the intelligence and security sector and the Prosecutor's Office.

During the session, the verification of the classified version of the Assessment, which contains data on identified criminal groups with connection schemes, structure and roles of their members, was noted.

"We point out that public versions of SOCTA will soon be available, so that the public can become familiar with the key characteristics of criminal activities that are dealt with in the document in question," the statement reads. It was also clarified that a proposal for a list of national priorities in the field of fighting against serious and organized crime was adopted, which includes eight areas: "Which will be submitted for final verification to the National Security Council. operational coordination and other bodies of the intelligence and security sector will start activities on planning and implementation of further measures and actions in the fight against serious and organized crime, with a focus on identified priorities," the announcement reads.

BOK, in the part related to the monitoring of the implementation of activities implemented through inter-agency cooperation, adopted the Report on the work of the National Interdepartmental Operational Team for the Suppression of Violent Extremism, Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

The sixth session was attended, apart from the president of BOK Dritan Abazović, by the members of that Bureau - director of the Police Directorate Zoran Brđanin, director of the National Security Agency Dejan Vukšić, general director of the Intelligence and Security Directorate lieutenant colonel Todor Goranović, acting director general of the Directorate for Security Affairs and supervised by Petar Koprivica.

By invitation, the session was attended by Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović and Secretary of the National Operational Team for Suppression of Violent Extremism, Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Kristina Đukanović.
