The trial against Obradović is over: It is still not known who moved the victim Grdinić to the driver's seat

Even after yesterday's conclusion of the proceedings in the Bjelo Polje High Court, a year and a half since the tragedy, it is still not known who moved the now deceased Dijana Grdinić (29) from the passenger seat of the Nissan car to the driver's seat after the accident in Đurđevića Tara.

She died in August 2020, after she went out for a ride in the evening with her fellow citizen Milan Obradović, who was a year older.

Prosecutor Vladan Đalović, in his closing remarks, recalled the report of forensic medicine expert Nemanja Radojević, in which, based on the injuries she sustained, it was concluded that Grdinić was in the passenger seat, not the driver, where she was found after the accident.

That it was not Obradović who was driving that evening, the prosecutor pointed out, is also indicated by the findings of the DNA examination, based on swabs from the airbags, seats and floor mats, after which it was established that traces of the deceased's blood were found in the passenger seat.

"The defendant defended himself that, after getting into the vehicle to go for a ride that evening, he does not remember the circumstances under which the accident occurred. "From the findings of the medical expert, it was determined that due to the head injuries he suffered and the concussion, it is possible that he does not remember the event," said the prosecutor.

He also pointed to the findings of forensic medicine expert Dr. Ivana Čurović, that it is possible that Obradović had from 0,57 to 1,02 per thousand of alcohol in his blood at the time of the accident, that is, that he was in an inebriated state.

The representative of the injured family, Drago Konatar, requested that when assessing the severity of the consequences of this tragedy, the court should take into account the age of the young girl, who did not even have her own offspring, emphasizing that the family is joining the criminal prosecution, mainly because of the way Obradović and his family behaved after accidents.

Defense lawyer Vidomir Bošković did not agree with such an assessment, who pointed out that the accused tried to contribute to clarifying the incident...

"The consequence of death has its consequences for the victim's family as well as for the perpetrator, on whom this event will have an impact in his later life. "The accused admits that he committed the crime, emphasizing that the level of alcohol intoxication was not determined at the time of the incident, which does not affect his attitude towards that incident," he said.

The accused said that he had lost his father: "But if someone asked me, I would not return him but her... I can neither sleep nor wake up like a man. At four or five o'clock I wake up and she is the first thing I see in front of my eyes. I know best how I live and how I feel. I didn't do anything wrong. I am waiting for prison, but wherever I am, my pain is with me for the rest of my life," said Obradović.
