Due to a change in the composition of the court panel, the trial of Nikšić resident Vuk M. Lalatović, accused of killing fellow citizen Ranko Vuletić on August 01, 2019, began anew in the High Court in Podgorica.
Before the criminal panel chaired by Judge Igor Đuričković, the defendant Lalatović repeated the defense he gave at the beginning of the court process in June 2020. He added that he was sorry and repentant.
The defendant said that he killed Vuletić out of fear, but that it did not happen the way it was written in the indictment, and that he did not commit this murder at the persuasion of the defendants Andrija Marković and Miloš Božović.
"I admit that I killed Vuletić and I regret it. When I saw what I had done, I went and reported myself to the police. I stand by the statement I gave to the prosecutor in the investigation. I regret it," Lalatović said earlier, and he still stands by this defense today.
The indictment presented that Lalatović committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder in connection with the illegal possession of weapons, while Andrija S. Marković and Miloš M. Božović, who are on the run, in July of last year in Podgorica deliberately instigated the defendant Vuk Lalatović to kill for self-interest. Ranko Vuletić.
Defendant Marković and Božović promised defendant Lalatović a monetary reward for the murder of Vuletić. The accused Vuk Lalatović is on 01.08.2019. around 10 o'clock in Njagoševa Street in Nikšić, he killed Vuletić out of self-interest.
