Jovanović: SDT is studying the evidence from the SKY application

Acting Supreme State Prosecutor's Office Maja Jovanović said that the Special State Prosecutor's Office is studying the extensive evidence submitted by EUROPOL from the SKY application, and that after a detailed analysis, a decision will be made in the case, which was reopened on May 3 this year, after Libertas published data and transcripts about the possible connection of Police Administration officers Petar Lazović and Ljub Milović with members of organized criminal groups.

"We are taking actions regarding the SKY evidence, the case was formed at the beginning of August last year, and it was archived in mid-January 2022. After writing Libertas, we immediately formed the case, on May 3, 2022, and the work is ongoing, all measures and actions are being taken confidential. It is a very extensive material, which is being studied, I understand the really great interest of the general public in that case, but I would ask for your understanding because the documentation must be studied in detail and after that a decision will be made," Jovanovic replied to the members of the Parliamentary Committee for political system, judiciary and administration.

EUROPOL submitted data from the SKY application to SDT back in July, but special prosecutor Saša Čađenović concluded on January 20 of this year that "there are no grounds for criminal prosecution". SDT under the leadership of the new GST, Vladimir Novović, because after Libertas, data and transcripts were published, which point to the suspicion that UP officials Lazović and Milović had criminal connections and deals with one of the leaders of the Kavaka clan, Radoj Zvicer.

Jovanović announced that the prosecutor's organization, especially in the field of fighting organized crime and corruption, will achieve much better results in 2022 than last year.

"It is neither immodest nor unrealistic to announce that in 2022 we will achieve much better results in Pineda's segments of work, especially the fight against organized crime and corruption. I think that certain results are already visible and that the prosecutor's office in the coming period, acting exclusively in accordance with the Constitution and the invitation, and certainly without any external influence, to make a significant contribution to the strengthening of law and the rule of law," said Jovanović in front of the Parliamentary Committee for Political System, Judiciary and Administration, where she presented the report on the work of the prosecution and the Prosecutor's Council for the year 2021, although she was not in that position then.

The report on the work of the prosecution organization and TS for 2021 was not adopted, because three members of the Board were against, three were in favor, and President Momo Koprivica - abstained.

The CEO of the VDT emphasized that the prosecutorial organization in the fight needs to strengthen its work, especially the SDT, which needs financial investigators, forensics, IT experts...

"The spatial capacities of the SDT, like most other prosecutor's offices, do not meet the basic accommodation conditions for the work of prosecutors and associates, not to mention the conditions for technical improvement with the necessary means of work. With the support of the state, we must work on strengthening, international criminal - legal cooperation with specialized bodies, as well as strengthening prosecutorial cooperation with prosecutor's offices around the world," Jovanović emphasized.

In response to the questions, she announced that she planned to make a detailed analysis of all plea agreements, and after that to provide precise guidelines to all prosecutors' offices on the handling of those cases.

"The EC report targeted the issue of guilty pleas, gave guidelines within the framework of suggestions and comments, we will consider that issue that I recognized earlier as one of the issues that we have to deal with in more detail within the prosecutor's organization," she announced.

All members of the Board praised the work of the SDT, after the recently launched investigations against the former President of the Supreme Court Vesna Medenica and the President of the Commercial Court Blaž Jovanić, but also expressed their regret that the head of that prosecution, Vladimir Novović, did not appear at the session, regardless of the fact that he was not a GST in the reporting period they are considering.

The Parliamentary Committee for the Political System, Judiciary and Administration will request complete information from the Prosecutor's Council on the method of evaluation of prosecutors Nikola Boričić and Duško Milanović, who were candidates in the race for the head of ODT Podgorica.

That request was proposed by SDP deputy Draginja Vuksanović-Stanković, who requested that the committee be provided with the manner in which prosecutor Boričić was evaluated during the interview before the Prosecutor's Council, as well as an explanation of how he received a zero rating from almost all prosecutors during a secret vote. .

"ODT Podgorica is a small VDT, I am interested in why some prosecutors, perhaps even organized by all the prosecutors in TS, were rated zero. Accordingly, I would also like to raise the issue of the work of certain prosecutors in the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office , who for many years, most likely, kept the cases in the drawers, so let's see who these prosecutors are, who are obviously in the role of instigators in this process, what they did, how they worked and for whom they worked. Already when they have the desire to somehow influence the election of the head of the Podgorica ODT, let's see their work," proposed Vuksanović-Stanković.

During the interview, Prosecutor Boričić accused his colleague Đurđina Ivanović of trying to thwart his election as the head of the Podgorica Prosecutor's Office, and that she and the former acting VDT Dražen Burić allegedly sought his arrest last summer.

Boričić lost in the race with the opponent Dusko Milanović, who during the scoring of the work program, evaluation of the work and interviews, won more points, with which the decision was made that he will be the new head of the Podgorica Prosecutor's Office, which has the largest number of prosecutors and cases...

In April, the disciplinary prosecutor Danka Ivanović-Đerić opened disciplinary proceedings against Boričić, because the head of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, Lepa Medenica, launched the initiative to open the proceedings, after during the control of the work of the Podgorica ODT for 2021 at the time when he was the deputy manager, found "13 cases in which he was in charge, but did not act without justifiable reasons".
