The Spanish Civil Guard has announced that it has broken up one of the most active criminal organizations in the Canary Islands.
As reported by the Canaria7 portal, that organization was connected to the mafia from Calabria, the Škaljari clan, but also cartels from Brazil and Colombia.
Eight Spanish citizens were arrested in the operation.
Agents of the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA), Civil Guard and agents of the Anti-Drug and Organized Crime Unit (UDICO) of the National Police participated in the action.
According to the Spanish portal, the criminal group had established several channels for the introduction of cocaine into the Canary Islands and had important logistics for the distribution of narcotics.
