Last night, the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management of Montenegro (UPSUL) had a successful evacuation of an injured seaman from one of the merchant ships at the anchorage of the Port of Bar.
Namely, the Maritime Operations Center UPSUL received a call from the Port Authority of Bar and the Navigation Safety Inspection in that city, that the Turkish cargo ship "Umlu 5" is requesting an emergency so-called. MEDICO assistance during the disembarkation of one injured crew member.
POC operators Milorad Krgović and Svetozar Bukilić then established contact with the ship, towards which the rescue boat SAR-1 with the crew Jasmin Koković and Nikola Bošković, as well as two members of the Border Police Sector Bar, immediately headed. With a quick reaction - in just ten minutes, the SAR-1 boat reached the anchored Turkish freighter, where the ladders were already lowered down the side of the ship, so the crew member "Unlua 5", middle-aged with an injured arm, was put on the boat and transported to gata 5 Luke Bar.
There, the injured seaman from the Turkish ship was taken over for further treatment by the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance, and the 112 Operational Communication Center of the MUP in Podgorica was informed of everything.
