The Podgorica Higher State Prosecutor's Office will investigate allegations by the M portal that members of the organized criminal group Škaljari discussed the acquisition of Kalashnikovs for the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) ahead of the 2020 parliamentary elections.

"The Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica opened a case regarding published transcripts in the media related to the acquisition of weapons and the preparation of armed resistance ahead of the parliamentary elections in 2020. In the further course of the proceedings, all necessary measures and actions will be taken in order to verify media allegations and establish of all the facts, after which a decision will be made in the case," reads the statement signed by the manager of VDT Podgorica, senior prosecutor Lepa Medenica.
