The citizens of Montenegro expect that the European Union, the United States of America and the United Kingdom, as well as their ambassadors, will continue to support and encourage institutions in our country to quickly react and process serious accusations of high-level corruption, as this would be done in their countries, said Dejan Mijović, a politician, civil activist and former long-time manager/advisor on EU, USA and UK reform projects in our country.

Mijović sent a letter to the EU Delegation, as well as to the diplomatic missions of the USA, the UK, Germany and France in Montenegro, after the defense of Duško Knežević announced that they had submitted documentation to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption which, according to them, confirms that Knežević on behalf of "Atlas group" paid for the stay of Milo Đukanović, at that time the Prime Minister, and Branimir Gvozdenović in the United Arab Emirates and France.

"We were all aware of these serious allegations, but lawyers have now presented well-documented material evidence, incriminating two leading Montenegrin politicians of high-level corruption. As you all know very well, in the EU and other Western democracies, these politicians would immediately offer to resign or would be forced to do so, in addition to being prosecuted and sanctioned for such shameful and illegal behavior.

"After the hundreds of millions of euros that the citizens of the EU, USA and Great Britain have invested in the promotion of the rule of law in Montenegro, we (the public) now all expect to see the same 'European justice' in action in our country. It goes without saying that we also expect that "The EU, the USA, the UK, and you as their permanent ambassadors, will continue to support and publicly encourage our institutions to quickly react and process these serious accusations, because that would be done in your countries," said Mijović in his address to the diplomats.
