The Special State Prosecutor's Office (SST) will make a decision on whether to open criminal proceedings against those responsible from the company "OMP Engineering" after all expert reports, hearing witnesses and suspects in the "Brickets" case, Vijesti has learned.
The prosecution determines whether the owners and responsible persons in the private company "OMP Engineering" with the former president and member of the Board of Directors of the company "13. July Plantation" Veselin Vukotić i Božo Mihailović arranged a harmful deal for the state company, said the interlocutor of "Vijesti" involved in the investigation.
In that investigation, the former director of "Plantaža" was arrested three days ago. Verica Marash, who was taken to the Investigation Prison yesterday.
She was ordered to be detained for up to 30 days by the investigating judge of the High Court, accepting the proposal of the special prosecutor Vukas Radonjić.
Her defense attorney Dejan Radinović, confirmed for "Vijesti" that the judge made such a decision.
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", one of the reasons why she was detained is the danger of influencing witnesses and accomplices.
Maraš was arrested on August 24 by order of special prosecutor Radonjić, who suspects that she participated in embezzlements that damaged the state company for over five million euros.
She was handcuffed in the investigation of the "Brickets" case.
Two days ago, she was interrogated for hours in the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), where she answered the special prosecutor's questions in front of Radonjić, presented her defense and denied the commission of the criminal offense she was charged with.
The list is not exhaustive
According to the knowledge of "Vijesti", her arrest did not end the list of those who will have to explain their role in the settlement of the state company with the private company "OMP Engineering" before the prosecutor Radonjić.
Special prosecutors suspect that the former director and former members of the Board of Directors damaged the state by millions of euros with that illegal work.
In the same investigation, the former president and members of the Board of Directors of Plantaž were arrested in July Veselin Vukotić, Bozo Mihailović, Djordje Rajković, Sead Shahman...
At that time, "Vijesti" was unofficially told that the list of those arrested was not final, and that the SDT intends to expand the investigation against Maras as well.
The arrests in the "Briketi" case followed a few months after the new management of "Plantaža" filed a criminal complaint against Vukotić, Maraševa, Mihailović and the former director of the legal and general affairs sector. Miroslav Vuković, claiming that by taking advantage of their official position, that is, by abusing their position in business operations, they obtained illegal property benefits for others, and caused damage to the company - acting organized as members of a criminal group.
They claim that Vukotić formed a criminal group that planned the way in which they would proceed with the execution of the criminal offense and that they did so by concluding a settlement agreement and an agreement on the transfer of shares.
According to the criminal complaint, which "Vijesti" had access to, Maraš, in the criminal group which, they claim, was formed by Vukotić, accepted the task of representing, on his order, at the meetings of the Board of Directors, the position that the conclusion of the settlement is a good decision for the Company:
"That the Board has enough material to make such a decision, as well as that at the Board session it presents half-assed data on the amount of investment, in order to create a false image that the investment of 'OMP Engineering' is significantly higher than the investment of the company in '13. jul Plantaže', thus giving the Board of Directors information from 2014 on the assessment of the investment of both companies in the joint company, stating that 'Plantaže' invested around 450.000 euros, and OMP 1.122.000,00 euros, although as executive director 'Plantaža', and as the president of the board of directors of Plantaža OMP, Verica Maraš must have known that since then the total investments of 'Plantaža' are significantly higher, and that they exceed the amount of investments of 'OMP Engineering', and that she is also carrying out other actions in order to realize the planned harmful work", the criminal report says.
According to "Vijesti" information, the "Brickets" case is not the only one in which the special prosecutors determine the possible responsibility of Maraševa and her colleagues.
Her operations are also being investigated in the allegedly illegal business of selling fresh grape distillate (100%) to Rubina Kruševac for 2,40 euros per liter, which is "many times below the real price".
